Cat Rescue is a
LIFESTYLE

Mission Possible Homeless Cat Foundation is a U.S.A. 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  All donations will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Our History
Our Founder, Lisa Crawford, had been a feral cat colony caretaker for over 20 years, spending many hours each day after work and on weekends driving to several cat colonies in often dangerous industrial areas of San Jose, CA.  Utilizing her own personal finances, she paid for the cats' kibble and canned food, plastic bin cat shelters, spay and neuter services, vaccinations, microchips, flea treatment, and emergency vet care for what eventually became 100 stray and feral cats. She came to love them all as much as her house cats.   Lisa felt that it was her calling to help these beautiful, abandoned little souls to have a safer existence.

In 2017, Lisa's personal life circumstances changed, and as such, she realized it was simply too cost-prohibitive and unsustainable to continue caretaking for these cats in the manner she had been doing. She needed a new and better approach.

It was time to b
egin the process of becoming an official nonprofit 501(c)3 rescue organization.  With this official status, she could not only provide people with donation tax receipts as incentive to obtain financial aid for her cats, but she could also provide a safe and secure indoor/outdoor cage-free haven for them while maintaining better control of her cat population. With this in mind, she purchased a rural homestead with a large horse barn in her home state of Texas that would be suitable for her new outdoor cat sanctuary.

With the help of Lisa's fellow colony cat caregivers, they were able to trap the cats in her care. She had them professionally transported in an air-conditioned trailer to Texas to start their new lives. After a few weeks of being contained in the barn to settle in, they were freed to roam and frolic in an allocated 2-acres of Lisa's lovely treed property, with newly installed cat-proof fencing, to live out the rest of their natural lives in peace, comfort, and security.
Lisa is now living her life-long dream of owning and operating an official indoor/outdoor nonprofit cage-free homeless cat shelter and is enjoying reconnecting with her family and friends.

Our Mission

We believe in a no-kill model of homeless cat welfare and that all of them, whether young or old, social or shy, in good health or poor, deserve a good life.  Every cat in our care is to be provided with the medical care, nutritional support, and love that is necessary to thrive. We are committed to ensuring that our socialized homeless cats are matched with a suitable, loving home.

Our Goal

With the help of Mission Possible's Board of Directors, our dedicated volunteers, and our wonderful donors, our non-profit rescue continues to thrive. Our aim is to help as many homeless and feral street cats as we can, and provide them with the fullest, safest and happiest life possible. We hope to make a positive impact on pet overpopulation caused by a lack of spay/neuter efforts in our community. The plight of homeless cats hangs in the balance.
