Featured Felines

Mission Possible is proud to present a biography of our special cats so that our wonderful donors get a chance to "meet" them.  Each one of them has a story to tell...   If you would like to sponsor a particular Featured Feline, please go to our Donate page and annotate their name.  We'll then be sure to let them know how much you care!

Snowden

Snowden was rescued in 2015 by our founder, Lisa, from a busy industrial area parking lot in San Jose, CA in 2015.  He was so dirty that she just assumed he was a grey cat!  He was feral and scared, but also curious about her, and it didn't take long for him to warm up to her.

Soon thereafter, a visit to the vet uncovered a lot about him. He was a young intact male that had a bad case of "stud tail" which was treated with antibiotics.  His fur was so filthy and badly matted that his entire body had to be completely shaved which revealed several scratches and old scars from cat fights.  He was treated for various types of parasites and was ultimately neutered. The vet also discovered that Snowden is deaf, a somewhat common adversity in white cats.

Since living outdoors in a busy industrial park with deafness is unsafe, Lisa brought Snowden home to her backyard cat cabin with secured outdoor space where he lived safely and contently in the company of a handful of her other rescues. Being very motivated by cat treats, Lisa taught him several tricks using hand signals, and had quickly won over the hearts of every human that met him.

In 2016, we thought we might lose Snowden when he suffered from a twisted intestine that required surgery, but thankfully, he pulled through.

In 2017, Snowden was relocated to our Texas sanctuary as one of our permanent residents. He can often be seen hanging out near the fence line waiting to greet Lisa and the volunteer caregivers so that they may give him a little welcoming head scratch. He shows our other rescued residents that it's okay to trust humans and to just be yourself, no matter what life throws your way. Snowden is so very loved and adored and has become Mission Possible Homeless Cat Foundation's unofficial mascot.
