Our Adoption Policy

We work hard to find our sociable cats and kittens an appropriate loving home based on their personality, habits, temperament with other cats, and individual needs. NOTE: We are willing to adopt out our cats within a 4 hour drive of Lufkin, TX. If you are a personal friend or family member of Mission Possible Homeless Cat Foundation's Board of Directors, we'll arrange to transport the cat to you anywhere in the lower 48 United States.

Mission Possible's 30-Day Adoption Trial

We want to ensure that you and your new furry family member will enjoy many happy years together. Our 30-Day Adoption Trial gives the necessary time for you and your chosen cat to get to know each other. If the match ultimately isn’t suitable, you may return the cat to us for a full refund of your adoption fee. NOTE: To ensure that our former homeless cats NEVER face homelessness again, we will ALWAYS and FOREVER take them back should you become unable to keep them beyond the 30-day trial. Per our Adoption Contract, we require that you FIRST give us the option to reclaim them before you attempt to re-home them.

1. Please view our Adoption Application, then print it out , complete it and sign, then scan/email it to us at: missionpossiblecats@gmail.com

2. If your application is approved, our Founder will then schedule a 30 minute phone interview to learn more about you, provide additional information regarding the cat you're interested in, and answer any questions.

3. She will then schedule a day for you to come to our Sanctuary to meet the cat(s)*. If there doesn't seem to be any "chemistry", we may have other adoptable cats for you to consider.

4. If a match is made, we will then have you review and sign our Adoption Contract.

5. Our cats are very special to us, so in order to ensure the new home environment is safe for our cat, we will then arrange for the soonest possible date for our Founder to deliver the cat to your home.

If the home environment is not suitable for the cat, we will not continue with the adoption and the contract will be voided.
If the home environment IS suitable for the cat, you will then pay the agreed upon adoption donation of $75 USD via PayPal or Venmo and she will leave you with copies of all medical records, and of course, your new cat. (If you prefer to pay via personal check, you may return to our sanctuary to pick up your new cat once your check clears our bank.)

7. At that point, the 30-Day Adoption Trial begins. If you have any questions or concerns during the trial period, our Founder can provide additional advice.

8. We will be in touch once or twice during the 30-Day Trial to ensure all is going well. Once the trial is complete and the adoption is considered a success, we will transfer your cat’s microchip registration over to you and send you a donation tax receipt.

If by the end of the 30-Day Trial you feel the adoption is not a success, we'll arrange for the cat to be safely returned to us. You may elect for us to keep your adoption donation regardless to help support our nonprofit sanctuary (you'll receive a tax receipt), but if you would prefer a refund, less a small administration fee, we will certainly do so.

* We will have you to sign a Non-Disclosure Legal Agreement to help protect the exact location of our private cat sanctuary.
